We need you! Words of the Rabbis to our brothers on the corner

I ran across an interesting note in the Gemara (Ein Yaakov) p. 223 17a-67 that I think is applicable to our brothers, my fellow Sons of Ham:
Note #4, alternate explanation:
The Gemara below (28b) says that when a person finishes studying Torah each day, he should say: “I thank You, God, my God, that You placed my lot with those who sit in the (synagogues), and You did not place my lot with those who sit on the corners.” “Those who sit on the corners” are idle people who loiter on the street corners wasting their time. This corner is “dark,” because the people there are in the dark as to their purpose in life. R’ Alexaderi prayed that God stand us on an illuminated corner, meaning on the bright corner of those who study Torah, and not, on the dark corner of the time-wasters.
