What ‘Brokeback’ freedom looks like!

For all the ways post-modernity celebrates activities on ‘Brokeback Mountain’, there is no way in hell the two young men can come down with one baby, let alone a family. Black America is finding out that many ‘opportunities’ presented as celebratory, are in fact, ultimately no reason to celebrate at all. Beloved Sons and Daughters of Ham, if you can’t pay for your own ‘freedom’ you’re not free! If you can’t pay for the Negro History museum, the statues of MLK and Coretta, or the Civil Rights Museum here in Atlanta yourself, they don’t exist. Similarly, if you can’t ‘train your own children academically’, pay for your own children’s scholarships, and develop your own talent, you are still dependent and as such, you don’t know whether what you really have is an achievement or a liability, when a new Sherriff gets into town. In the old days, when Dems and Republicans were united in a public policy world view that legitimizes the Civil Rights Movement, they provided opportunities for integration, DEI, affirmative actions, etc. A new Sherrif, Donald J Trump is in town, and he and the new Republican Party aren’t committed at all to the Civil Rights Era vision of America. What is altogether worse, White mainstream Dems feel being associated with the view that the Civil Rights Movement was a valid and true expression of what America needed then, and now, makes them less attractive to the present White mainstream voters White Dems count on for votes. This is presuming they can win elections long term with a base that is dependent on Negroes, radical feminists, and homosexuals, all of which are minorities. Beloved, White mainstream Democrats will fight on a lot of battlefields for the Negro, but the one thing they cannot and will never do (nor does it help us), is commit suicide to defend the Negro, and the ways of life and publicity we have garnered in the past 50 years since the Civil Rights Movement. A new sheriff is in town, and he doesn’t think Negro Generals or Air Traffic Controllers are qualified and thinks all this stuff about Negro history is not just redundant and unnecessary, but actually destructive. So, the same Confederate statues and names associated with the Confederacy White mainstream Republicans and Democrats agreed should be taken down, get put back up, and the same Democrat and Republican unity that financed the Smithsonian Institute for Negro History in Washington, gets redirected towards other projects like renovating the White House Ballroom and renaming the Kennedy Center. Let me just state here, that as a ‘real’ historian I felt no Confederate statues or flags should be taken down. The truth is better out in the air and sun, not covered up by Negro hurt feelings. Out in the sun, you get stronger from having to deal with it every day. Covered up, truths function more like ‘sores’ which tend to rot and fester when they are not exposed to the air and sunlight, let alone treated with aloes and balms.
