The Futility of Black liberal and conservative Elected Officials

Oh Atlanta, Chocolate City, we have so much to answer for. We have had 50 years of Black mayors, 50 years of Black Fire Chiefs, tax collectors, city councils, county councils, superintendents, and school boards. For 158 years the Atlanta University Center has been cranking out Negro intellectuals and citizens. For 50 years a thriving Black middle class has shaped the image and reality of modern Atlanta as a thriving place for Black talent, the so-called Black Mecca. We are the home of Martin Luther King Jr., and a significant chunk of the legacy and history of the Civil Rights Movement. From post-Civil War Atlanta, through Reconstruction era Atlanta, through Jim Crow/Black Codes Segregated Atlanta, through the Atlanta Race Riots in 1906, through Civil Rights era Atlanta, and in the post-Civil Rights Era Atlanta history we are living through now, Atlanta has been a focal point not just of Black issues, but Atlanta has literally at the forefront of what it means to be Black in America (promise and potential). But when you ask our Atlanta Black elected officials what to do about Chocolate City crime, their answer is to propose a tax hike to fix jail issues (AJC Friday 11-21-25). Apparently, we  are being led politically by people who believe that there is no other answer to increasing crime, lawlessness, juvenile dysfunction, and homelessness (which is always criminalized), other than to build bigger better more technologically advanced jails, hire more police, increase the budget for police personnel salaries, and increase the budget so that police may be able to get the latest technology in order to address chocolate city crime. These so-called leaders even suggested with absolutely no shame, that the overwhelming number of largely Negro residents in metro Atlanta needing incarceration, and the overcrowding of the Fulton County Jail, could be alleviated by ‘outsourcing’ our Negro criminals to other rural, southern, and even private jails and detention centers. The White man’s ‘problem’ (Negro criminal dysfunction), became the Negro political elite’s problem after integration and chocolate run cities, however the Negro political elites here in Atlanta sought out the White man to solve it for them, as most of these other prisons and detention facilities are either in majority White areas, or run by private White mainstream corporations. They felt that was a better option than trying to figure out what else could possibly be done to alleviate high Negro crime rates other than blame it on White people, institutional racism, 400 years’ worth of Negro suffering, and the fact that they wouldn’t let us lead our own cities. However when ‘they’ did ‘let us’ lead our own cities as democratically elected officials, the best solution ‘us’ could come up with after 50 years of democratically elected Chocolate city officialdom, is to solve Negro crime exactly the way White folk have historically, getting tough on crime, building more jails, and tougher longer sentences. Keep in mind this is after our heroic liberal officials, drunk off the BLM wine, had the bright idea to abolish the bail system and defund the police, all ideas that have been rejected by even the toughest and hardest Black urban communities as idiotic, insane, and completely self-defeating. Even the fact that we have to treat our children like adults hasn’t struck a lick of shame into our current crop of Negro elected officials. 

Ladies and gentlemen if this is who we are being led by, then no wonder things are as bad as they are in the Fulton County Jail, and it is filled with a level of brutality and poor conditions that if we lived in an all-White city and county, these Negro preachers would be at the State House, and somewhere in Washington DC hollering about the violation of inmate’s Human Rights, rather than hollering about how we need to boycott Target. But Atlanta is a chocolate city, and there are no White folks easy at hand to blame. That is why these idiots are proclaiming in 2025 that the Black church and Negroes in general need to be out here protesting Target in the name of Target dismantling their Affirmative Action and DEI programs. Never mind that nearly every other White mainstream organization and corporation and the government is doing the same thing. Even the City of Atlanta has renamed, remodeled, and repurposed what it formerly called its DEI office. Are these preachers going to protest the City of Atlanta Government for defunding and deemphasizing its DEI office? This is how absurd and irrelevant the current Southern Black church and its leadership has become.    

Why aren’t Negro preachers and politicians saying Negritude in Atlanta needs a good old-fashioned revival of spiritual and community standard. Why are they not suggesting to the Negro public and body politic, that our old fashioned Southern Black church values can help heal the divisions in our families, heal the lack of discipline and safety in our schools and communities, and heal the lack of economic development and opportunity? Why is a spiritual, ethical, and moral solution not only the table for Fani, Pat Labat, Marvin Arrington, Marcia Overstreet, Kecia Bottoms, Raphael Warnock and ‘little girl King’. Why is the Black Southern Christian message, the one that got Negritude through slavery, Jim Crow, the Civil Rights movement, and the post-Civil Rights movement and integration, not on their lips, but every time you turn around, they are promoting themselves as the champions everybody and every other minority community but the Negros who trusted them enough to put them in office. 

Why can they say with a straight face that Black communities and families need every single Federal, State and public dollar they can get their hands on, from every single government program in existence and government programs not in existence that need to be designed to help Blacks, but they cannot say that the solution to juvenile crime and non-performing schools that graduate children that are 2-3 years behind grade level and state standards, is strong families based on traditional values, and emphasizing character building and spiritual formation in children as provided traditionally in the Black community by strong church and moral traditions. Why are they so silent? How can ‘Warlock’ and ‘Little Girl’ King happy pronounce our children need LGBTQIA+ training and encouragement, but not Christian training and encouragement? Is it because they are involved in a quid pro quo relationship, where in exchange for jobs, positions, and titles high up in the Democrat party apparatus, they do their master’s bidding which mandates that they can’t suggest the obvious about individual and community values and choices, but must instead preach the Democrat party line, even when the Democrat party line is diametrically opposed to the biblical values that got us to our present state!
